Volunteers Needed: Join Us At a “Town Day” Event This Month!

This month sees the return of Town Day events throughout the region, and the Friends of the Fells will be in attendance at number of these events.  We are in need of volunteers to assist us on these days with staffing our “table” during festival hours, or to help us with set-up/break down.

For September, FoF will be represented at the following local events:

Sunday, September 12th:  Melrose Victorian Fair

Hours:  11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
(Setup TBD (usually 9 AM- 10:30 AM), breakdown after 4:15 PM)

Saturday, September 18th:  Stoneham Town Day

Hours:  11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Setup and breakdown TBD)

For events such as these (running 11 AM-4 PM), we often divide volunteer coverage into 3 “shifts”:

  • 11:00-1:00: “AM” coverage
  • 1:00-2:00:  “Lunch” coverage
  • 2:00-4:00: “PM'” coverage

…although we welcome any time commitment that is possible, as well!

If you are comfortable with conversing with the public and representing the Friends of the Fells, and interested volunteering your time, or with assisting with the logistics of setup or break down for these events, please reach out to Jesse.Macdonald@fells.org as soon as possible!
