Volunteer Spotlight–Sheri Qualters

We’d like to announce the return of our popular Volunteer Spotlight column–now online!

Our first featured volunteer is Sheri Qualters.  Her involvement is somewhat more recent, but she’s been busy!

Name:  Sheri Qualters

Town:  Melrose

Profession:  Journalist

Involved since:  2014

Sheri tells us:

“I write news stories and press releases about Friends of the Fells initiatives and events and then work with local news outlets to get the items placed.  I’m a Communications Committee member and we work collaboratively on projects like newsletter and blog pitches and articles, fundraising letters and grants, and we brainstorm future goals.  I’ve done some field service volunteer work, including Park Serve Day this year and last. I‘ve helped out at tables and booths at events, including spreading the word at Whole Foods Day in June, when they donated a portion of their net sales to us here at the Friends.”

What kinds of questions would you like us to ask our “Spotlighters”?  Do you have any nominations for future volunteers to feature?  Comment here, or email or message us on our Facebook feed.  Would you like to get more involved yourself?  Here’s the link:  Click here to let us know how you can help. If you find yourself intrigued by Sheri’s type of role specifically, we’re always accepting guest or regularly contributing writers and editors.  Send your ideas and proposals our way!
