Updates to November’s Guided Hikes

Check out the new offerings now up on the calendar to close out this month!

We are pleased to announce the addition of three more guided nature hikes to our events calendar for November, including the debut of a new hike leader with the Friends of the Fells!

Bruce Wenning is a horticulturist and invasive plant specialist, and has a background in entomology and plant diseases.  This Sunday, you can join Bruce on his guided hike “Lets Talk About Invasives:”

Join Bruce for a casual walk in the Lawrence Woods to identify and discuss the more common invasives found in the Fells.  We will discuss the ways in which these plant species impact the ecology of the Fells and damage our native landscape. There will be handouts available for attendees.

Meet in the Medford High School parking area (489 Winthrop Street), at the rear of the building near the Edgerly Sports Complex.

In addition to Bruce Wenning’s upcoming hike, space is still available in a family-oriented nature hike with Winchester Trails, and a nature hike led by Boot Boutwell.
